Got signed up today! My weight lifting program has kinda held me back from getting prepped for the run, so I am going to have to switch my training up to be as prepared as I can now. Is anybody planning on trying to run the course again anytime soon? See you all there!!

Happy Monday Team Pistachio!!

We are getting extremely close to the day of the race! I would like to happily say that Sandy and I completed 9 miles of the course on Saturday! That included both hills of the race. Super stoked! Never thought I would ever be able to go that far, let alone up those hills! I am no runner, I am a jog/speed walk kind of gal, but that’s alright with me! Just to know I am pushing myself more than I ever have physically is exciting.

I know we all get wrapped up in our busy lives but I am asking all of you to buckle down for the next 4 weeks until the race and really train and help each other be successful! That especially means being active on the website. This is so important because we need to know where you are in your workout so that we can help you! I know I gave you guys the option of having notification of posts sent to your email, BUT, I went through and changed anyone who has it set not to receive email notifications because this way it will keep you in the know when someone has posted something on the website! These last 4 weeks are extremely important!

If it makes any of you feel better, I hadn’t ran for 2 weeks before I went out and did the 9 miles. So, if you haven’t been consistent with your training, it doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

I have always rejoined Team Pistachio AA and am not drinking until November 7th! (For sure otherwise I lose a bet of $500 that I don’t have.) I am on my 6th day of being alcohol free and I feel great! So if anyone wants to join me let me know! We can drink crystal light together at social gatherings!

I plan on running tomorrow morning around 8am on the course if anyone would like to go!

November 7th is the date! I’m so proud of all of you who are sticking with it although you might be freaked out! We can do it!!! And I heard the party after is really fun!!

Last night was AWESOME!! Sandy, Piper and I went and ran part of the course. The course has 2 major hills and we did the second one which is a little easier but still a good climb. Knowing Sandy would take the lead, I tried to explain to him where the stopping point was, but I didn’t explain it well because Sandy ended up doing another 1.6 miles more than we did which included a second hill! Go Sandy!! He still managed to be not too far behind us!  Go Sandy! You killed it! Overall that meant Sandy did 6.6 miles! Piper and I ran 5 miles…

Piper, who said she is really slow, did a stellar job! She kept a good pace the entire way to the top, I couldn’t stay with her!

We all felt really good when we were done and realized how when you just put your mind to something, anything is possible!!

Piper and I are meeting at the 7 a.m. tomorrow morning to run the first hard hill and will total 6 miles. So, if anyone would like to join let me know!!

Good job girls. Keep up the good work.  I worked out really hard everyday last week except Saturday.. Very proud!!  I am in Wendell and thought I would go on a little jaunt tonight.. Ran almost the whole way, I only stopped because I found a litter of kittens so tiny and cute and I had to find out if I could catch them..I couldn’t:(   Got home thinking I did about 1.5 miles and took my car to find out.. 2.8 miles.. Wahoo!!  Wasn’t even that hard.  Tomorrow I am going to try and do 3.  I have been lifting weights and doing cross training almost everyday and am finally able to see some results.  I feel great!!  I hope you are all on the right track and I can’t wait to see you when I get home this weekend!~~!  Muah..Sharon

So bummed cuz the flu got me down yesterday. Thought it was gone but felt it come back some time Saturday evening and hit me pretty good on Sunday. I still have a bad cough and hard to breath but I am still going to go run today. Not sure how far I will go. Haven’t decided yet. But i do plan on running 8 miles (with both hills) sometime this week. Hope everyone else is feeling good and training hard!
